Fancy cars and superstars are part and parcel of the lifestyle. Add frequent lei’s, #tiki cocktails and Alfred & Constance’ White Lightening Bar to the list, and that’s one hell of an upgrade for a 1950s Polynesian inspired journey. With the launch of their new menu, we look at the Top 5 Ways Alfred & Constance put the #superstar into their tiki cocktails.
#1 Richard Boccato
Brooklyn born and bred, Richard Boccato touts himself a mere #mixologist who just comes from New York, but he has assuredly curated one of the most original and spirited menus in The City. Having been personally discovered by The Limes Group chief Damian Griffiths, Rich crosses the big pond a few times a year to revamp and maintain A&C’s Tiki culture. He might be a mere publican, but his experience and knowledge in all things spirits borders on the #savant.
#2 Hawaii Five Oh
Hawaii is a superstar #spawning ground, as the birthplace to President Barack Obama, Dwayne ‘The Rock Johnson, Nicole Kidman, Bruno Mars, Bette Midler and even Roseanne. A&C’s brand new and shiny tiki menu is taking inspiration from Hawaii, even going so far as to #feature Trader Vic’s galvinised Hawaiian-style Mai Tai. If that ain’t a leg opener, nothing is.
#3 The Salted Caramel Colada
Superstars always get lei’d where, more often than not, they end up in torrid public scandals. Whatevs; as long as they spell the #name right! Introducing the #lovechild of 1954’s Pina Colada and 1956’s Zombie: the Salted Caramel Colada. It’s modern, it’s new, it’s now. See how many you can get into you before you get yourself lei’d superstar style!
#4 Superstars don’t get old: they just get better
Favourites like the Zombie, Tiki Barrel, Kava Bowl and, fire starter Scorpion Bowls are White Lighting’s #signature tiki cocktails, and while they might seem ‘old hat’, classics never die: they just get #sexier with age.
#5 Everything old is new again
The 1950s and 1960s is the #epitome of cool these days. Beatniks and beards and Mods and skinny ties are carving a distinctive path in our current city lifestyle. As a result, Rich is taking inspiration of this time to transport us from the nine to five, to cast us into bamboo huts and rum soaked adventures where romantic misunderstandings are de rigeur.
