BIGSOUND 2014 Landing in September

September sees BIGSOUND return to Fortitude Valley where the biggest names in the Australian and international music industry will share the trade secrets that bought them to the top of their game. With over three dozen speakers, including top A&R heads from Atlantic Records and Sony ATV Music Publishing, to directors of festivals and promotions companies across the globe, this is one of the largest and most diverse range of Music Industry professionals ever seen in Brisbane. 

Keynote speakers for the event this year will include Neil Finn, one of the country’s most successful songwriters and performers to speak about his career so far – from the early days with Split Enz and Crowded House through to his solo projects and recent works.

Joining him will be Australian psychedelic rock group and ARIA Hall of Fame inductees The Church to discuss their longevity in the industry, while delighting BIGSOUND delegates with an exclusive album preview.  

Other showcase artists on the bill include Alison Wonderland, Adelaide born Jesse Davidson, prog-rock outfit Toehider. mixed-media powerhouse Sampology Ft.Tom Thumb & Jordan Rakei will debut a brand new live show for the 2014 BIGSOUND conference. 

The business and management side of the industry also gets healthy representation from international labels, publishers, radio, event promoters and booking agents all willing to share their experiences and outline the future of the local and international music game.

US YouTube Blogger Anthony Fantano(Founder of The Needle Drop) and Bluesfest director and co-founder Peter Noble also round out the keynote speakers in the quest to enlighten the Brisbane music collective. 

With support from the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland and QMusic, and assistance provided by the Federal Government through the Australia Council of the Arts, BIGSOUND 2014 is sure to set the Queensland and Australian Music Industry on fire.
