Get Your Cherry Blossom Fix at Sake Restaurant & Bar

Celebrating the arrival of spring, Brisbane’s favourite Japanese Restaurant will be decked out in a beautiful floral installation of the stunning sakura (or cherry blossom). 

Beneath the canopies of pink petals, Sake Restaurant & Bar will be hosting not one, but TWO incredible dinners as well as a picnic-themed lunch event. Oh, and they’re creating 4x limited-edition Cherry Blossom inspire cocktails. That’s a lot of time to spend underneath the iconic pink blooms and we. are. loving. it.

Hosted in their private dining rooms, the two exquisite dinners are aimed to showcase cuisines from the East and West of Japan, respectively. Each menu channels decadence, delight and deliciousness with the East Dinner taking place at Eagle Street Pier on Tuesday September 3 and the West Dinner on Tuesday September 17. Paired with drinks, guests can book one dinner for $159 per person or both for $300 per person. You can check out the full menus here (and not to spoil the surprise, but it looks UH-mazing).

On Saturday September 28 and Sunday September 29, frolic in a Japanese floral wonderland as the weekend picnic event takes over Sake Eagle Street Pier. Dine tatami-style with a shared Japanese menu ($169 pp), that includes a cocktail on arrival and 2 hours of Veuve Clicquot Rosé, Cloudy Bay wine and Sapporo beer.

Throughout the month of September, Sake will also showcase 4 gorgeous cocktails inspired by the fabled Japanese flowers. Think floral extracts, pink hues and stunning presentations (LOVE). We can’t wait to try the Little Geisha a fruity-sweet infusion of Luxardo Maraschino sour cherry liqueur, Amabuki Brewery Pink lady sake, mixed with cranberry juice, lime juice, strawberry purée and egg whites.

Other cocktails on the menu include Not An Ordinary Cherry (Bulleit Bourbon, Cinzano Rosso Vermouth, Sakura Vermouth and Peychaud’s Bitters), Yozakura (Ketel One Citroen Vodka, cherry syrup, lemon juice and egg whites) and Cheri Dorinku (Pampero Especial Rum, Cherry Heering Liqueur, lime juice and cherry syrup topped with elderflower tonic). Absolutely Oishi!
