Doris Day wanted to shout it from the highest hills and tell the golden daffodils, but today’s #IT Girl or Boy (#IT as in Information & Technology) can proclaim it to all and sundry from a #billboard; or even more technologically advanced than the usual static sign, from goa’s 18 #digital billboard network that reaches as far north as Enoggera through to Kedron, Clayfield, Bowen Hills, Breakfast Creek and The Valley, as well as Hamilton, Kangaroo Point, Annerley, Woolloongabba, Moorooka and Greenslopes. ‘cos we’re all like the borg and can be plugged into the grid and stuff and get our message out there in less than seven words across a 6x3m #LED screen. Because size matters.

Being that LED is lovely, digital is delightful and technology is terrific, goa has introduced the uniquely awesomes #VDay digital message to celebrate the international holiday of love. You will find declarations of tenderness, piety and lust broadcasted across 18 6x3m digital billboards around The City. Cards are environmentally soul-destroying and gifts are commercially inclined; and while they’re gratefully accepted, there’s really nothing quite as epic-ly impressive than seeing your personalised message in 20x10ft of light emitting diodes. Enter the 21st century and get plugged into the mainframe: this is #geek love in the digital age.
