MCs are the hiphop masters of riddims and rhymes, counselling the world with penetrating commentary on everyday life. Their rhythmic patois on daily living amid the tensions of city living, the boiling pot of disconnection and our inner discontent takes us on a journey of painful knowledge – but then, eating the apple lead us to the truth despite the revelations.

Under the moniker of I AM D, local MC Tom Daley takes rhythmic lyricism to a whole new level, projecting his perspective and personality with a smooth flow of contention that elevates the daily grind to The Daley Grind. And as the victor of the APRA Hilltop Hoods Initiative Prize in 2014, rapper I AM D has a long road of cutting patois in front of him, with a massive fanbase following the Hilltops, among artists and producers alike – from Tom Thum to Resin Dog’s Dave Atkins, Bliss and so many more – joining his legion of honour. The recent release of his debut EP The Daley Grind under his hoodie, tracks U-God and Misfortune getting their share of airplay on Triple J, and supports of hip hop legends David Dallas, Dialectrix and Mantra, this is only the beginning of I AM D’s epic path ahead.
