Brisbane’s hottest fashion event of the year for passionate fashionistas of Brisbane is upon us, when the third annual of Marie Claire presents James Street ‘Up Late’. Where hardware isn’t necessarily found on the shelves of Mitre 10, and a flatform isn’t construction terminology, fashion’s night-of-nights will inject the wardrobe with this upcoming season’s trends, refresh the home with beautiful lifestyle pieces, and fill the beauty bag with the latest must-have products.
First introduced in late 2011, James Street ‘Up Late’ is a celebration of the Australian fashion industry. Home to a staggering 150 retailers from boutiques to salons, galleries, interior design studios, cafes and restaurants, the beautiful leafy precinct of James Street will stay up just that little bit later to give inspired fashion lovers an exclusive opportunity to meet and greet with loved fashion designers while indulging in sights, sounds, drinks, nibbles, and amazing discounts.
This fashionista-esque street party allows goers to brush shoulders with Australia’s favourite fashion labels; from Heidi Middleton, Pamela Easton and Lydia Pearson of Easton Pearson fame, Camilla, Gail Sorronda, the Zimmerman sisters, and Aje‘s Adrian Norris and Edwina Robinson. These effortlessly cool geniuses of style will bring the Fortitude Valley shopping precinct to life with a series of fashion workshops and designer talks aimed at giving rare glimpses into the lives of the fashion elite. The hottest trends and personal styling tips will be on offer, while showcasing the perfect looks for this upcoming season. The Marie Claire fashion team will be there too, in stores and roaming James Street. Publisher-Editor Jackie Frank will kickstart the night from Sixes and Sevens, dispatching styling advice and answers to fashion queries. And from Blonde Venus to Beau In The Woods, Carmarque, Maryon, French Rendez-Vous, Lyla Clare, Sans Peur Workshop, Onepointsevenfour and Libertine, James Street will be an exploration into fashion and design. To satisfy the tastebuds, Bucci, Gerards Bistro and Cru Bar will be on hand to see we keep our girlish figures.
This will undoubtedly be the biggest night in The City’s trendsetting calendar that sees fashion lovers and shoppers alike descending in vogue to witness the pages of Marie Claire coming to life. As Marie Claire says, “Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only“. It is also in the street where we live.
