BIGSOUND has announced the first round of acts for the BIGSOUND Live line-up in 2016. The darlings of triple j unearthed sees the usual of Melbourne vying against Sydney with Brisbane and Perth balancing the independent singer-songwriter-producer collation.

Brisbanites BANFF return with Good Boy in full music mode, as 80’s indie pop Selahphonic share the Sunshine State bill with LASTLINGS and Townsville’s country meets rap King Social.
From Sydney, Gideon Bensen guitarist and vocalist of The Preatures will debut his newly solo EP’s alongside the poetry and visual arts of Sampa the Great, nomadic pop/punk logo maniac Bec Sandrige and synthpop quartet Tigertown. Shining Bird will also be bringing a branch of the Blue Mountains with their eucalyptus dream pop.

Self-taught singer-songwriter Tash Sultana leads the Victorian sisterhood with front woman of The Furrs, Gabriella Cohen and indie artist Alex Lahey following suit. Lo-fi noise-folk band Tiny Little Houses, are on the same agenda as central Victoria indie pop group Fountaineer and soft punk group Rolling Blackouts Costal Fever while Olympia brings rich harmonies and dissonant minimal guitar. Meanwhile, Adelaide will see cathartic garage rock band West Thebarton Brothel Party join contemporary krautrock band SPARKSITTER jump on the BS bandwagon.

From the other side of the world, Western Australia four-piece band Hideous Sun Demon join west coast duo Mosquito Coast, Tasmania’s experimental punk band Naked and Northern Territory’s melodic hardcore band Tapestry

This year will also see the visit of international artists including NAATIONS from the United States and Fazerdaze, Groeni and Young Tapz from New Zealand as well as Prateek Kuhad from India. And there’s still more. Scroll down for the big names in indie music.
