Foodies, get set, get ready, and go Macho Macho at the newest café and bar in Ashgrove! Combining a sophisticated and playful experience, Macho Macho is the third business of Monica and Jimmy Strong; the iconic owners of the creative Artie + Mai and Arthur’s Green.

The name ‘Macho Macho’ derives from the bravery it took to open a third café, with Jimmy and Monic resonating with their eldest daughter’s chant of “be brave, be brave”. Macho Macho is built on a contemporary atmosphere with odd touches of whimsy, with the space featuring exposed brick walls, neon lighting and a mural painted by the lead singer of The Amity Affliction.

Hoping to become a favourite fixture in Ashgrove, the menu features gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options, which allows everyone the opportunity to catch up with friends over coffee and artisan breakfasts, or experience the dinner menu and bar by night. The perfect breakfast would have to be the Honeycomb, Ricotta & Lavender Hotcakes with Berry Compote! Dinner options include The American Cheeseburger with rosemary salted chips and a Crab, Lemon & Chilli Linguine with confit and cherry tomatoes. And when provided with the options of Panna Cotta, Affogato and Chocolate Tart, skipping dessert would just be foolish!

Macho Macho is an experience that every foodie on the Northside must add to their bucket list. Stalk Macho Macho on Instagram  and Facebook for pictures of #breakfastgoals, braised pork sliders and incredible coffee!
