Grab some popcorn and take a seat because Palace Cinemas, both at James Street and The Barracks, will be back in business from the 2nd of July!

Due to the pandemic, they were the first cinema chain to close, and now that they’re the first to reopen, they’ll be taking as much care as possible to keep everyone safe. From capped cinema capacities to staggered screening times, the safety procedures are for everyone’s benefit. Online bookings are also strongly encouraged (you want to make sure you’ve got a seat!)

There’s already an awesome lineup of international films to enjoy, from the New Zealand comedy Bellbird, to the Scandinavian drama A White, White Day, to the sweet British rom-com Love Sarah and, later in July, the live-action remake of Mulan

To celebrate the reopening, they’ll also be offering $2 Choctops and special deals for Movie Club members, like 5 eTickets for $40– definitely a good reason to become a member!

You could also make a night of it– get there early and enjoy some antipasti and a wine or maybe two?
