Step off Warner Lane this spring and you could swear you’ve stumbled into Tokyo after dark. Goros Brisbane is flipping the switch on ordinary nights out with Cherry Bomb, a month-long party drenched in neon pink, glowing cherry blossoms and unashamedly playful energy. Running from Thursday, 4 September through Saturday, 11 October, the venue is transforming into a kaleidoscope of sakura blooms, karaoke-fuelled madness, and late-night revelry that feels like a dream you don’t want to wake up from.

The kitchen is leaning into the fantasy with food that’s as vibrant as the décor. Picture delicate slices of watermelon sashimi brightened with yukari and pickled ginger, fluffy bao cradling tempura prawns and a slick of chilli yuzu mayo, and ocean trout tacos kissed with finger lime and shiso. Just when you think you’ve had enough, out comes fried ice-cream dressed up with fairy floss and fresh strawberries—a sugar rush worthy of the glow all around you.

At the bar, cocktails double as liquid neon. The Ghost Drop Sour shakes vodka, lemon and whites into something tangy and sharp, while the Velvet Sakura layers sake, cherry blossom and citrus into a drink that tastes like spring in full bloom. The Pomegranate Boba is a cheeky wink at bubble tea, complete with bursting pearls, gin and sparkling umeshu, while the Cherry Bomb itself throws vodka, Ghost Drop and Red Bull into the mix for a full-throttle energy kick. If you’re craving something indulgent, the Strawberry Soft Serve blends vodka, strawberry and vanilla ice cream into the kind of dessert that feels made for Instagram.

And while the décor and drinks set the stage, it’s the events that keep the party pulsing. Things kick off with BIGSOUND Week, from 2 to 5 September, when Brisbane is buzzing with new music and Goros becomes the ultimate pit stop for festival-goers. On Saturday, 6 September, Riverfire lights up the sky—but the real sparks fly later, when DJs take over Goros for an afterparty that rolls long past midnight.

A week later, on 13 September, it’s time to unleash your inner kawaii kid at the Sanrio Comic-Con Afterparty. Hello Kitty takes centre stage in a playful, sakura-filled wonderland that’s equal parts cute and chaotic. Then, just a few nights later on 18 September, Goros invites the brave (or foolish) to throw themselves into Takeshi’s Castle-style antics at Goros Castle. Expect wild challenges, belly laughs, and just enough mayhem to make you question your life choices—in the best way possible.

How cute is this cocktail though?

The long weekend in October is when Goros truly explodes. On Friday the 3rd and Saturday the 4th, the Cherry Bomb House Party takes over, promising DJs, eats, drinks, and a still-secret headliner that’s already stirring whispers. And just when you think the glow is fading, the grand finale hits on Saturday, 11 October, when Goros plays host to the Valley Fiesta Unofficial Afterparty. It’s one last chance to dance under the cherry blossoms, with late-night eats and DJs bringing down the curtain in style.

But Cherry Bomb is more than an events calendar—it’s an atmosphere, a mood, a full sensory takeover. Goros has turned itself into a multi-level playground where Tokyo street styling meets Brisbane’s after-dark spirit. There are karaoke rooms for belting out your favourite anthems, hidden bars for whispered mischief, and dance floors glowing pink with possibility. Every corner offers a new adventure, every night promises a story worth telling.
