The Big Top is coming — and not just any Big Top, but the kind that packs out London, breaks box office records, and sends audiences floating home on a cloud of acrobat-induced euphoria. COME ALIVE! The Greatest Showman Circus Spectacular has officially locked in its Australian tour, and yes, Brisbane is on the list — and it’s landing right in our backyard next summer.
After a blockbuster run in the UK (the kind where “extended season” gets said more times than “encore”), this high-gloss, high-flying spectacular is packing up its aerial rigs, circus royalty, and mammoth soundtrack and heading Down Under. And while it will open in Sydney, then sashay through Perth and Adelaide, we’re really here for the good stuff: the Brisbane season, kicking off from 29 December 2026 at the Royal Queensland Golf Course.
For those wondering what exactly they’re in for, imagine The Greatest Showman had a baby with a big-budget circus and raised it on a diet of soaring vocals, “how-is-that-even-human” acrobatics and an all-Australian cast performing the soundtrack live. The bangers? They’re all there. This Is Me, Rewrite the Stars, A Million Dreams — the songs you either proudly belt in your car or pretend you don’t know before quietly mouthing the words anyway.
Creative Director Simon Hammerstein (yes, the same Simon responsible for Usher’s sold-out Las Vegas residency) says the aim is to whisk audiences away entirely. “With COME ALIVE! we aim to transport our audiences into a circus dream, and create a show for anyone who loves great music, thrilling action and spectacular entertainment. The uniqueness of our show allows us to blend multiple entertainment forms into one singular event, bursting with joy and reimagining this extraordinary music to tell a new, modern story of what it takes to follow your dreams. We are so excited to bring this incredible show to new audiences across Australia – come one, come all and Come Alive!”
The production is equally massive behind the scenes — think Olivier-nominated music producers, Emmy-nominated lighting designers, choreographers who’ve worked with Taylor Swift, Strictly Come Dancing, The X Factor, and costume designers responsible for Dirty Dancing’s Secret Cinema. In other words, this isn’t a “grab the kids, find the fairy floss” circus. This is a moment.
