Dusty The Musical – In Concert is bringing soul, sequins and a whole lot of sass to QPAC this June.
If your heart beats a little faster at the sound of Son of a Preacher Man or you’ve belted You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me into your hairbrush at least once, clear your calendar: Dusty The Musical – In Concert is sweeping into Brisbane for a strictly limited season from 5 to 8 June.

A celebration of the legendary Dusty Springfield — the shy girl from London who became a global icon of British pop and soul — this electrifying concert-style musical will fill the Concert Hall at QPAC with glittering nostalgia, powerhouse vocals, and the story of a true music trailblazer.
A hit parade with heart
This is no dusty jukebox show (pun intended). Dusty charts the transformation of Mary O’Brien into the platinum-blonde superstar Dusty Springfield, whose voice helped define the swinging ’60s and beyond. Expect goosebump-inducing renditions of classics like Wishin’ and Hopin’, I Only Want to Be With You, The Look of Love, I Just Don’t Know What to Do With Myself and, of course, Son of a Preacher Man.

Created by Aussie writing trio John-Michael Howson, David Mitchell and Melvyn Morrow, the show first wowed audiences in 2006 and again in 2016. Now, it returns in concert form, mixing theatre and live music in a way that’ll have you shimmying in your seat.
Amy Lehpamer leads a star-studded cast
Taking centre stage once again as Dusty is the incomparable Amy Lehpamer, back in the role that earned her a Helpmann nomination in 2016. Fresh from a scene-stealing turn as Anne Hathaway in & Juliet, Amy brings depth, soul, and spine-tingling vocals to a role she was clearly born to play.

She’s backed by a dynamite cast of 17, including both national musical theatre names and a strong local contingent of Queensland talent. You’ll spot performers with credits from Tina: The Tina Turner Musical, WAAPA, VCA, and the Queensland Conservatorium, all under the direction of Jason Langley. Choreography is by the sharp and stylish Michael Ralph, and music direction comes from Brisbane’s own Brendan Murtagh — with David Young (fresh off the Wicked tour) supervising the sounds.
A strictly limited season, so don’t miss out
This isn’t your average tribute night, it’s a slick, high-energy celebration of a true musical legend and it’s only here for six shows. So whether you’re a lifelong Dusty devotee or just discovering her brilliance, this is your chance to witness her magic live on stage.
