It’s all about makeup that doesn’t feel like makeup at the moment and KVD Beauty has proven it has its finger on the pulse by releasing their Good Apple Full-Coverage Transfer-Proof Vegan Serum Foundation. And yes, while that IS a mouthful to say, each one of those words in the name adds up to a promise that will elevate your makeup game.
What is KVD Beauty Good Apple Full-Coverage Transfer-Proof Vegan Serum Foundation?
Apart from a really good tongue-twister, this new foundation promises maximum coverage with minimum weight for a serum feel.
Among its other touted qualities are that it won’t transfer, is longwear (and will stand up to heat and humidity), and has a pore-blurring appearance. So far, so interested!
It’s called Good Apple because it contains a nourishing apple extract (plus some glycerin) that helps skin to look super fresh all day. It also boasts quince leaf extract to help keep shine in check all darn day. It’s all formulated for hydration and comfort.
Another selling point that I am ALL about is that it comes in a (very luxe and attractive) glass bottle, which means it can be recycled easily. Sustainability FTW.
Combine all that with the fact that there are 40 shades to choose from, and you have a foundation that I cannot wait to try.
My KVB Beauty Good Apple experience
I first came across the KVD Good Apple Foundation (as I am going to call it for short, otherwise I will go over my word count) on TikTok in an ASMR video. So you KNOW the first thing I wanted to do is click-clack my nails over the filigree adorned glass bottle.
(And I did. Clickety clack)
There’s something about a glass bottle that just screams quality (maybe the weight of it?) and I immediately am drawn to this one.
I decide if I am going to trial the Good Apple Foundation I may as well use it as it was intended and pair it with both the KVD Beauty Lock-It Primer and the KVD Beauty Good Apple Lightweight Full Coverage Concealer.
The lovely staff at Sephora Indooroopilly are super helpful when it comes to picking my shade, as there are more than a few to choose from.
After patting on some primer, it’s foundation time. The formula glides on so smoothly and has beautifully buildable coverage. I don’t have to use very much product at all before I can see my pores blurring and my pigmentation vanishing before my eyes.
It dries down quite matte, so if you’re a super dewy kind of person then this probably isn’t for you. But for me—a girl who likes to look like a porcelain doll and then add my shine in targeted places with highlighter—it’s perfect.
The tiny bits of my dark circles and blemishes that are still visible vanish with a couple of dots of the KVD Good Apple Concealer.
This foundation feels pretty airy and lightweight and it blends with ease. And although the formula is matte, it gives way to a lovely glow and freshness to my skintone.
The verdict
I’ve been using this foundation for a month and I continue to be impressed. Brisbane weather has been hot and humid this season so I really put the formula through its paces. And while my face was more than a bit sweaty, my makeup was still in place. I was actually pretty gobsmacked.
The coverage lives up to the hype and it leaves my skin looking even and glowy. Pores? Don’t know her.
Make sure when you’re selecting your shade to take a sample home and try in natural light. I found the shades dry ever so slightly darker than when you first apply.
All in all, I loved the way the KVD Lock It Primer and Good Apple Foundations and Concealer all worked together to create a look that had people asking where I got my products from. This is not hyperbole, this actually happened three times.
It’s a solid recommend for me, for anyone who likes their foundation matte yet glowy, and light yet full coverage.
