We made our pilgrimage to YOMG Chermside on launch day, determined to sample the goods in their full saucy glory — and friends, we were not disappointed.
We started with the Crunchy Buk Buk, and it was love at first bite. The chicken was golden and shatteringly crisp on the outside, juicy on the inside, with the hot honey glaze shining through every bite. The sharpness of the pickles and the richness of the cheddar were perfectly balanced by the OG sauce, and the whole thing was hugged tight by that soft, pillowy bun. Sweet, savoury, spicy—the holy trinity.

Next up was the HHCC Box, which, honestly, should come with a soundtrack. The two hot honey crunch fillets were outrageous: crunchy, juicy, and dripping with that sweet heat. The chips were golden and perfectly seasoned, but the Chilli Mac & Cheese? Absolute scene-stealer. Creamy, just the right amount of spice, and criminally easy to polish off. We may or may not have fought over the last forkful. Also worth a shoutout: the service at Chermside. The team was friendly, fast, and clearly loving the new menu as much as we were.
