The beloved Brisbane indie trio is back with Close, a powerful and introspective indie-rock track that fans and critics can’t get enough of. After premiering on triple j’s Home & Hosed last week, it’s already received multiple five-star reviews on their unearthed page.

Written with the help of Alex Lahey and Ball Park Music’s Sam Cromack, the band experimented with a pop sound to create this upbeat and catchy tune. Close is inspired by the human condition and the dynamic of relationships, topics the band will continue to explore as their sound matures.

“It talks of the struggles within a relationship (friendship, general or romantic) and at times it explores themes and emotions of self-deprecating,” guitarist Chris Langenberg explains.

The single comes with a fresh music video and news of a second EP later this year, which fans are now even more excited for after hearing this single. The music video is filmed entirely via Zoom, featuring appearances from a line-up of fellow musicians, including Ball Park Music, The Jungle Giants, Grinspoon, WAAX, and more.

There’s a lot to look forward to with this ever-evolving band so keep your eyes peeled for their new music and, until then, enjoy having Close on repeat like the rest of us.
