Less sugar. More açaí. A journey into the Amazon. This isn’t just a frozen treat—it’s a frozen triumph.

Hold onto your reusable spoons, friends—Yo-Chi has just gone and changed the açaí game in Australia. Again.

The cult-fave froyo chain, known for making us feel like saints while devouring dessert, has just launched a brand new açaí blend. But this isn’t just any new flavour drop. Oh no. This one comes with a side of serious sustainability cred, a Brazilian backstory worthy of a Netflix doc, and (drumroll, please)… over 50% less sugar. Yup. This is officially the lowest sugar soft-serve açaí in the country, with under 10g per 100g. And yes, it still tastes stupidly good.

So, what possessed Yo-Chi to go full Bear Grylls and reinvent the açaí wheel?

Well, Brand Director and resident overachiever Oliver Allis recently packed his bags and went deep into the Amazon (yes, that Amazon) in search of the holy grail of berries. Not only to find the best-tasting açaí on the planet, but to make damn sure it was being sourced ethically, sustainably, and with actual good vibes for the communities involved.

Ethically sources and damn delicious.

His journey led him straight to 100% Amazonia, a B-Corp certified powerhouse run by Fernanda Stefani—a woman on a mission to produce top-tier açaí and protect both the people and the ecosystem of the rainforest. This is no shady supplier situation: we’re talking wild-harvested berries (read: no plantations, just real jungle fruit), direct relationships with Brazilian families, and environmental practices so clean they basically sparkle.

And the payoff? A seriously lush new blend that not only slaps on taste, but boasts a 14% açaí content (FYI: most blends hover around 10-12%). That means richer flavour, more antioxidants, and actual substance in your swirl.

“My main reason for visiting the Amazon was to make sure our açaí supply wasn’t negatively affecting the region or its people,” Ollie says. “We’ve worked hard to build a supply chain that’s good for everyone—and the end result is better-tasting, better-for-you açaí.”

Basically, it’s giving: ethical jungle queen meets delicious skincare-for-your-insides.

Just launched in stores in April 2025, this is the açaí moment you and your gut health have been waiting for. Because if you’re going to eat purple soft-serve that makes you feel like a glowing forest elf, it might as well be the kind that helps save the rainforest too.

See you in the toppings bar.
