It is pretty clear that the Great Barrier Reef is in trouble, but it is hard to know what you as an individual can do to help. From complete beginners to experienced athletes, this SUNDAY 16th OCTOBER Brisbane runners will put on their trainers and step up to help save the Reef, participating in the world’s first simultaneous running event for the Great Barrier Reef – run4reef.

Hundreds of Brisbane locals will run alongside world-famous Olympian, Steve Moneghetti, and runners in 20 other cities around Australia and New Zealand tackling 1 km, 5 km and 10 km distances along the Manly Esplanade.

Racing against other across the state, Brisbane runners in the longer 10 km distance event will be running to win a $1K prize, or a trip to the Great Barrier Reef while one super lucky participant will win a car, thanks to race sponsor BYD.

Each runner will be running as one to save the Great Barrier Reef – with 15% of registrations going towards Reef and climate restoration programs like Great Barrier Reef Foundation’s innovative ‘plant a coral’ initiative, WWF-Australia, WWF-NZ and local government organisations.
