Don’t panic, Valentine’s Day February 14 is still a few days away. As Carrie Bradshaw says “The most exciting, challenging and significant relationship of all is the one you have with yourself. And if you can find someone to love the you you love, well, that’s just fabulous.” Use these tips as Great Ideas For Valentine’s Day.

Don’t forget.
First things first, invite your Valentine to “save the date & time”. Do this before the actual day arrives. It’s so simple, set a reminder on your phone.

Book early.
All the best places sell out. Think Gold Class Cinema, champagne brunch or a long lunch or dinner. Or pack a picnic hamper and reserve your romantic shady tree early. Flowers and chocolates will say everything. Reds and pinks are romantic colors so roses, gardenias, tulips, orchids and wildflowers are great bets to bring a smile to the face.

Don’t talk about an ex.
It’s a big turn off, even if you have discussed them in great detail on prior dates. Keep that little subject off limits on Valentine’s Day.

Don’t give a generic card.
Write one yourself or ask Google to steer you to becoming an amazing wordsmith.

Leave the diet at home.
Naughty can be nice. Enough said.

Spend what you can afford
Budget for the day in advance, or use your imagination if things are a bit tight. There is no price on a romantic walk.

Make it memorable.
It’s as simple as a selfie photo, a hand written Valentine’s card or a ring that says “I love you”. Xennox Diamonds has a handy Guide To Buying Jewellery here. Either way, make it count in your own personal way.
