The Importance of Being Wasted is Oscar Wilde’s classic comedy of manners with a cocktail twist at this year’s Anywhere Festival.

This intoxicating take on The Importance of Being Earnest will see two actors in the cast get tipsy each night before delivering Wilde’s most famous work.

Act React is a Brisbane-based company specialising in pop culture-inspired comedy and theatre. Act React producer Natalie Bochenski describes the premise, “It’s a play that requires focus and clarity of speech – so we are throwing booze into the mix to see what happens”.

Each performance will feature a different combination of inebriated thespians trying to keep it together with the help of their sober fellow performers.

If you love Drunk History, this is the show for you.
