June in Brisbane comes with a predictable side effect: suddenly everyone is texting, “Want to grab lunch?” and actually meaning it. That’s because Dine BNE City has returned for another month-long celebration of eating, drinking and finding new reasons to leave the house when it’s dark by 5pm.
Now in its sixth year, the city-wide food festival has kicked off with its biggest program yet. More than 80 venues across Brisbane’s CBD are serving up 130 exclusive offers and special events throughout June, giving us all a very convenient excuse to say yes to brunch, lunch, dinner and that spontaneous after-work drink that somehow turns into dinner. Not that anyone needed much convincing. You can find the full list of offers here or check out our picks below.
The beauty of Dine BNE City is that it works whether you’re planning a catch-up with friends, trying to impress a date or simply looking for a lunch that feels slightly more exciting than whatever is currently sitting in your office fridge.
This year introduces a new Morning Edition category, which means the deals start before most of us have even finished our first coffee. Goldie at 360 Queen is offering a $1 crispy hash brown with any drink purchase, which feels like the sort of bargain that deserves immediate investigation. Riverbar & Kitchen is serving corn tostadas topped with fried eggs, guacamole and salsa with coffee for $25, while Mr Edward’s has breakfast burgers paired with tea or coffee for $15. Goldfinch Restaurant is also getting in on the morning action with a breakfast panini and coffee combo for $15.
If your ideal day begins closer to midday, the Let’s Do Lunch offers are where things get interesting.

Among the highlights is a truffle risotto at Stilts served with your choice of house wine, sparkling or beer for $40. Central is offering a 250g steak paired with wine for the same price, while Marhaba Café has put together a double bacon BLT, chips and a Bundaberg Brewed Drink for $22. The kind of lunch that guarantees you’ll spend the afternoon thinking about food instead of work.
Once the sun goes down, Supper Club takes over.
Mulga Bill’s is dishing up riverside meat paella paired with a drink for $41 per person, while seafood lovers can settle in at Tillerman for a late-night menu featuring ceviche, octopus and swordfish steak. Then there’s Doughcraft’s Nonna’s Favourites menu, a three-course Italian feast featuring arancini, lamb ragu pappardelle and tiramisu.

Winter comfort food has entered the chat.
For those who consider 4pm a perfectly reasonable time to start thinking about cocktails, Bar Safari is back with a collection of drink-and-bite pairings that feel tailor-made for Brisbane’s after-work crowd.
Blackbird’s Adult Happy Meal might be the standout. Guests can choose between boujee chicken nuggets or a cheeseburger, served with fries and a glass of sparkling wine for $35. Meanwhile, Babylon is pairing a Mini Meze platter with two house drinks for $35, and Naldham House is matching mini cocktails with tapas-style snacks. It’s hard to imagine a more productive way to spend an afternoon.
Those looking to stretch an afternoon catch-up into the evening might want to head skyward to Sixteen Antlers, where a charcuterie plate and a bottle of bubbles for two is available for $75. Few things say “we’ll just stay for one” less convincingly than a rooftop platter and sparkling wine.

The event calendar also includes a handful of one-off experiences for diners looking to level things up.
Donna Chang’s Dumpling Academy gives guests the chance to learn from the chefs before settling in for a banquet beneath the restaurant’s famous chandeliers. Blackbird’s Great Steak Showcase promises an evening dedicated to premium Australian beef cooked over wood fire, while Naldham House is hosting a mushroom-focused chef’s table showcasing seasonal varieties across multiple courses. Which means you can either grab a cheap lunch or spend an evening discussing mushroom varieties with professional chefs. Brisbane contains multitudes.
Part of the appeal of Dine BNE City is that it encourages people to revisit familiar favourites while also wandering into venues they’ve walked past a hundred times without ever stepping inside.
The city’s dining scene has changed dramatically over the past few years. New openings continue to appear, hidden bars keep emerging down laneways and long-established venues are finding fresh ways to surprise diners. Dine BNE City bundles all of that energy into one month.
The hardest part won’t be deciding whether to participate; it’ll be narrowing down the list.
Dine BNE City runs until June 30. Full offers, event details and bookings are available at dinebnecity.com.au.
