Broadbeach already knows a thing or two about hotels. Now it’s getting one with an international reputation behind it. Andaz Gold Coast will open later this year as the first Andaz hotel in Australia and the Pacific, bringing 202 rooms, a sizeable pool club and a collection of restaurants and bars to Casino Drive.
If you don’t know Andaz, that’s about to change. The global lifestyle brand, which sits within the Hyatt family, is known for hotels that try to get under the skin of their destination rather than simply putting a nice bed in a room and calling it a day. And this one is very much making itself at home on the Gold Coast.
Andaz has chosen Broadbeach, which means guests will have one of the Gold Coast’s most useful addresses at their feet: beach on one side, Pacific Fair on the other, and a formidable collection of restaurants, bars and entertainment in between.
The design is taking its cues from the Gold Coast
Rather than importing a look and hoping it works, the design team has taken inspiration from the place itself. Australian architecture firm DBI Architects and award-winning interiors studio Hachem have built the concept around the movement of sunlight across the coastline, from the freshness of a Pacific sunrise through to the deeper tones of twilight over the hinterland.That translates into warm tones, shifting light, expressive materials and plenty of lush green references to the landscape beyond.

The food situation is looking particularly interesting
There will be several dining and drinking spaces, which means guests won’t have to go very far when the usual holiday dilemma of “where should we eat?” inevitably arrives.
Nove Restaurant and Bar will put a modern Australian spin on Mediterranean hospitality, with local produce, fire-led cooking and shared dining at the centre of things. Then there’s Vista Lounge, designed to be the hotel’s social heart, and Verde Bar, an intimate spot for golden-hour cocktails and elevated bites.
Outside, the Andaz Pool Club will bring together sun loungers, private cabanas, cocktails and dining, giving the hotel its own answer to the Gold Coast’s longstanding preference for doing very little beside a body of water.
The rooms are designed to feel more residential
The 202 guestrooms and suites will feature floor-to-ceiling windows and expressive interiors, with the overall feel designed to be relaxed rather than overly formal. Some rooms will have private outdoor spaces, while the suites will add generous living and entertaining areas, deep soaking bathtubs and dual vanities.
The Andaz Residence Suite is the serious one, with an expansive entertainer’s terrace and indoor-outdoor living spaces designed for longer stays and private gatherings. Which is one way of saying that if you have a group of friends who like to holiday together but still appreciate having somewhere to retreat to, someone has thought this through.
It’s not all about staying in the hotel
Another big part of the Andaz offering is its focus on local experiences. Guests will have access to a Technogym fitness centre, but more importantly, Andaz hosts will act as something of a bridge between the hotel and the wider Gold Coast. The idea is to connect visitors with the people, places and stories shaping the city now, from its creative and culinary communities to its beaches, rainforests and hinterland.
It’s a welcome approach for a destination that has plenty going on beyond the hotel pool, although we fully support spending a reasonable amount of time in said pool.
And yes, you can book it already
Reservations are now open for stays from 14 December 2026, ahead of the hotel’s late-2026 opening. There’s a Grand Opening Offer offering 20 per cent off eligible room rates, while World of Hyatt members can receive 25 per cent off.
There’s also a Gold Coast Escape package, which includes a $100 dining and drinking credit and a complimentary upgrade. World of Hyatt members can receive an additional five per cent off eligible rates. Both offers are available to book until 22 December 2026 for stays through to 30 June 2027, subject to availability and the relevant terms and conditions.
So while Broadbeach certainly doesn’t need another hotel to prove it knows how to do a holiday, it’s about to get one with a rather different proposition. Andaz Gold Coast is bringing an international name, locally influenced design, a serious collection of food and drink venues and a very large pool into the mix.
Put it all together and there’s plenty here to get excited about, from the design and dining to that very tempting pool deck. December suddenly has a rather appealing new address.
