Jardan awakens a future-proof style of living as an upmarket furnishings store, expanding from their origins on Church Street in Melbourne’s Richmond to present their first Australian retail showroom from James Street, Fortitude Valley.
Designed and made in Melbourne, mid-century modern meets unmarred manufacturing standards and a preoccupation and pride in Australian design. Run by brothers Nick and Mike Graham and first crafting with eight staff in 1997, Jardan is now a company with over one hundred staff. As an Australian family-owned furniture business, Nick and Mike have built their name on the basis of handcrafted sofas, chairs, tables and beds. Their vision embodies a total-living approach where quality materials, craftsmanship and care extending throughout and beyond the home. Jardan illustrates there is no machine that can truly replace the hand or eye when it comes to finesse and until now, Jardan have dealt directly with architects, interior designers and retailers. The Jardan Brisbane showroom will be their first step away from a wholesale market and into the field of consumer retail.
Jardan evolves beyond the range of made-to-last crafted furniture to present carefully selected lifestyle items that serve as showcase points to the Jardan brand while bringing a fresh, lasting and aspirational feel to the settings. Inspired by the relaxed alfresco living of Queensland, North Melbourne architect Iva Foschia of IF Architecture, brings Jardan’s stylish minimal concept and practical holistic functionality to James Street, capturing the Australian home and lifestyle. Enduring beyond trends, Jardan integrates with the company policy of making local, acting mindfully and minimising waste. They are committed to universally managing their production footprint, certified Carbon Neutral through the Australian Government’s National Carbon Offset Standard with materials sourced in line with sustainability guidelines. These unite with warm textures and architectural detailing to create a sense of home, connecting with outdoor living where paintings, sculpture, artwork and a first-rate Australian Design book collection complement Jardan’s furnishing concepts. As a result, a reflection in the power of design expresses contemporary ideas through quality materials.
As a quintessential Queenslander reimagined, the space is light, airy and informal featuring timber lining boards, a light colour palette with understated touches from all over Australia. With the philosophy that investing in good design is an investment in lifestyle for a lifetime of fulfilment, Jardan leaves lasting impressions.
