#MeccaBeautyJunkies unite! The Mecca MaximaWintergarden store is officially open, and it is SO much more than just a makeup shop.
Makeup and skincare superstore Mecca Maxima has given Brisbane beauty junkies their best gift yet: opening their biggest store EVER right here in the river city. More than 2000 eager beauty obsessives queued for hours to snag their hands on celebratory goodies, with the first 1000 people through the doors scoring an Urban Decay eye shadow palette.
The opening included free glitter makeovers, sweet treats and goodie bags, alongside a DJ who pumped out sweet tunes whilst beauty addicts got their fix. And if that wasn’t enough, eager beauty lovers got to take a whirl playing the Mecca Beauty Bank, filled with $65,000 worth of prizes, where everyone was a winner. Gift cards and palettes and lipsticks, oh my!
The new store features the entire range of Mecca Maxima’s exclusive brands, and is a one-stop-shop for all your beauty needs. Want to get your makeup done by professionals? You’re in luck. The 554 square metres store now features two beauty bars servicing up to 12 customers at a time; available for makeup applications, skin consultations and other services newly introduced to Mecca Maxima.
Director of Education at Mecca, Jacob Stanley, says the new store offers features designed specifically with beauty lovers in mind.
“We have so many shiny new things here that aren’t happening in any other stores,” he explains. “We have our first proper installation of the Beauty Lab which is really exciting because we can deliver a 30-minute makeup lesson to groups of up to eight people, where we provide all the materials they need to be able to create a look on themselves. They can actually develop skills that they want to learn to do themselves, like how to do a smoky eye, how to do winged liner, how to contour.”
He explains the store has also gone high-tech when it comes to beauty solutions. “We also have digital look books installed. You can navigate through to identify exactly what makeup look you want applied to you. We have nine different looks and each look is applied on six different models with different skin tones, eye colour and facial shapes. You really get an idea of how the look might turn out on your own face. Then there are visual merchandising solutions so you can grab all the essentials you need to recreate that specific look,” he says.
The massive new store also features a dedicated skin zone featuring a huge array of brands, with a dedicated space for consultations. Mecca Wintergarden is part of the next generation of concept stores, designed by the people who brought us the world’s leading retail stores including Bobbi Brown, NARS and Victoria’s Secret.
So, what are you waiting for? Get your wallets ready and head to a makeup store like no other.
Classes run every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Each day will have its own theme and will be running between the hours of 12 and 5, every hour on the hour. All you have to do is book!
