Pop This One in Your Calendar, The Hidden Lanes Line Up has Dropped!

From the archives: This post is from our original site, MyCityLife, back on 4 October 2019

The Hidden Lanes is a festival that brings together the best of fashion, food, music, art, and entertainment all into the borders of our very own Fortitude Valley. As the namesake suggests the festival is tucked away in the ramblings of laneways in the valley, celebrating (and introducing) the secret spots that have popped up in recent times.

There’s a lot to love with so much going on, there is literally something for everyone. Take a number of workshops to get your creative juices flowing or shop up a storm at markets featuring local unique artisan wears. Catch some demonstrations and meet the makers of various creations.

You can even get yo’ hair did with a summer staple style, in the braiding workshop! All the while sipping a summery cocktail, LUSH! Oh, and did we mention it’s ALL FREE!?

They’ve just announced new additions to their line-up, and let us tell you… it’s going to be epic. North Queenslander singer/songwriter Greta Stanley will bring her smooth acoustic melodies and soaring, emotive lyricism to the lanes along with Wollongong guitar-pop duo Cry Club with their electrifying pop anthems ‘DFTM‘ and ‘Two Hearts‘. First Beige will be bringing soul, jazzy disco-funky grooves so make sure to check out their latest track ‘Desire‘.

Also included in the second announcement are some incredible local and national acts including Concrete Surfers, Dream Coast, James Rigby, Greaves, and Nelipot. Presenting Brisbane’s best and brightest the Music Industry College is showcasing a bevy of bands in the Lanes. If discovering new music is your jam, then Bonsai, Georgia Dutton, Don’t Trip On The Wire, Krave, Mitch Salisbury, Selfish Sons, The Blockades and Pacific Avenue are the ones to watch.

Featuring a plethora of trails to tempt you down the (not so dark) alleyways, you’ll be spoilt for choice between fashion & beauty trails, art, and design walks or you can go back in time on the heritage trail. Try all the yummy things on the appetising food & wine trail and take an indulgent journey into the unknown for a sensory explosion of art installations, music, and aromas of delectable treats. Find yourself at The Hidden Lanes festival for some full-on fun times.
