Welcome the idyllic elements of eternal sunshine and sultry nights where outdoor living is a cultural expectation. And set within the urban composition of Brisbane, rooftop bars stand out as the ultimate in elevated drinkery. Come for sunset for an open-air neon reverie, signature mojito in hand. There’s a fortuitous sense of refuge from party central while drinking in the surrounding views of a high-flown cityscape. Garrisoned from Ann Street overlooking the heart of The Valley, Elixir Rooftop Bar is a host of hidden treasures; an escape, far from the madding crowd.
Drawing inspiration from its surroundings burrowed between Brunswick Street Mall and Chinatown, Elixir takes on the mystical story of the Moon Rabbit, waiving its rights to happiness for the sake of the immortal Moon Goddess. Through the magic of this vision, the Elixir team purposefully concocts a heavenly environment. Featuring an impressive bar adorned with some 127 golden bunnies as a nod to its namesake, the forces of Director Peter Biedak, Venue Manager Ken Sattler and Bar Manager Dave Jolly spearhead a distinguished troupe with an extensive menu of cure-alls. While the bar’s carefully crafted aperitifs are only to be expected, it is the kitchen’s superior selections of dishes the true revelation. Trademark tapas, sliders and salads hit the spot, with molten ribs cascading from the bone the especial standout.
This utopian ambience is completed by flavours of deep house and lounge music supplied by the best in local DJs. Well suited for date nights, casual get-togethers and adventurous turnouts – particularly during the week – high heels and couturier apparel set the winning tone of this upmarket cocktail garden. En masse, these elegant extracts of food and drink wholly fuse with the fairy light studded décor, plush greenery and twinkling candles for a lush wellspring soaring above the concrete jungle.
