Welcome to a different kind of Brisbane staycation. Adina Hotels has launched their newest venture and if you’re looking for a hotel that’s close to work and play, then Adina Chermside Brisbane may be just what you’re looking for!
Indulgence is just around the corner
Adina is only a 10-minute WALK from Westfield Chermside which means that you have great shops, great food and great fun just down the road.
With restaurants galore, Total Fusion’s luxury health and wellness centres and nightlife filled with the likes of Hijinx Hotel and Events Cinemas, you won’t have to look hard for something to fill your days (if you choose to leave the hotel). It feels like a city escape without having to navigate the CBD.
I definitely took advantage of having the shops so nearby, spending my afternoon in FAYT the Label trying on beautiful clothes that I felt so comfortable in and the store was incredibly warm and welcoming. And in my experience, that certaintly isn’t always the case with shopping experiences.
Starting the next day at Total Fusion’s Wellness Rooftop was perfect. So perfect that I kind of, sort of didn’t want to leave. With access to hot and cold plunge pools, traditional and infrared saunas, and a steam room, there was something for everyone but sitting back on the premium daybeds with a perfect view of the Adina and a Skin Glow juice in hand was a great way to end the session.
Speaking of indulgence, you can never go wrong with a well thought-out signature scent, and Adina actually has one. You can experience it up close and personal in the hotel lobby. It’s gorgeous.
Celebrating art and Queensland at every turn
Adina Chermside has been designed by WMK Architecture to reflect Brisbane’s subtropical climate and the natural surrounds of Chermside. Light-filled spaces, greenery and soft residential finishes give the hotel a warm, considered feel that fits neatly into its suburban setting.
The Queensland connection continues throughout the hotel, with a curated collection of works by Queensland photographer and filmmaker Sam Thies displayed across the property. The artworks add another layer of personality to the spaces and make exploring the hotel part of the experience.
The studio apartments give you everything you need
Walking into the one-bedroom apartment, I was shocked to see how spacious it was, and how many features it had. With a small kitchenette including a coffee machine, washing machine and dryer, living room space, separate bedroom and a stunning bathroom, you might find it hard to leave the room, even with Westfield within walking distance.
If you opt to stay in the studio rooms, never fear, there is a laundry on the ground floor so you don’t feel like you’re missing out on that apartment living too much.
Also located on Adina’s ground floor is the super cute St Marks Road Co., a small cafe perfect for a smoothie, small breakfast or lunch and for that necessary daily coffee hit. All purchases can be charged to the room to make your stay even smoother.
Before settling down at St Marks Road Co., check out the ground floor gym if you’re not wanting to miss out on a workout while you’re away. With enough equipment to keep you more than covered, the space is open, clean and bright. For someone who usually opts for an at home workout, I found this space incredibly enticing.
The best hotel sleep I’ve had in a long time
I won’t lie, I often don’t sleep well on the first night of any stay (which isn’t always fun when you’re on a one night staycation!) This was most certainly not the case at Adina. I slept without interruption and actually woke up feeling rested. A modern miracle, truly!
The double bed felt like a true double (not two singles pushed together). I didn’t feel like I was slipping between a gap and there was something about the pillows that had me dreaming almost immediately. A separate bedroom with doors cutting out the natural light may have played a big part in this.
While this may not be everyone’s gauge of a good hotel, it has Adina moving up to the top of the list for me!
Why Adina Chermside Brisbane is one of Brisbane’s best staycations
Adina Chermside gets the balance right between having plenty to do and giving you a genuinely relaxing place to retreat to. The apartment-style rooms make it easy to settle in, while Westfield, Total Fusion and everything else happening around Chermside mean you can fill a stay without heading into the CBD. Add in the beautiful design, Queensland artwork and one of the best hotel sleeps I’ve had in a long time, and it’s an easy pick for a Brisbane staycation.
Whether you’re planning a weekend of shopping and wellness or simply want somewhere comfortable to switch off for a night, Adina Chermside makes a very convincing case for staying closer to home.
