Finding the perfect gift for Mother’s Day can be a little tricky. I mean, how is it possible to find one perfect gift that says “I love you so much, Mum, thanks for all that you do for me every day and also all that pain and stuff you went through in childbirth”. Nigh on impossible! But, we have gathered together our favourite beauty products this season that at least go part of the way. If your mum loves some good skincare, is up to date on the latest beauty trends or loves a bit of makeup, there’s sure to be something she’ll love on this list.
Rare Beauty Find Comfort collection (Sephora, from $35)
It’s rare that we’re this blown away by a collection, so it’s only fitting that the new Find Comfort range comes from Rare Beauty. It smells, quite simply, divine. Rare Beauty describes the collection as “removing the pressure of having the perfect self-care routine,” through emphasising personalised self-comfort.
“It’s about accepting yourself as you are, loving yourself, and being there for yourself so you can be there for the ones you love.” So the Find Comfort range clearly is a must-have gift this Mother’s Day.
First up there’s the Find Comfort Hydrating Hand Cream and Hydrating Body Lotion. Both creams are fast absorbing, non-greasy, long-lasting and feature a delightful scent with notes of of lemon zest, jasmine petals, violet, vetiver and soft cashmere wood. It smells like calm in a bottle and we are obsessed. The Body and Hair Fragrance mist carries this calming scent over and infuses it with biotin, niacinamide and peach flower extract to revitalise Mum’s body and hair (and leave everyone wondering just how she smells so good). Lastly there’s the Stop and Soothe Aromatherapy Pen—because let’s face it, mums need a chill moment. This handy little pen features a fast-absorbing gel with a peppermint and lavender scent that will help mum relax on the go.
The whole range is about giving people a self-care “me” moment, and all mums definitely deserve that!
Lust Minerals Gradual Tanning Moisturiser ($52) and Bronzing Glow Drops ($48 from Lust Minerals)
Time-poor mamas will love these Lust Minerals new offerings because they’re quick, easy and do multiple things. Firstly the Gradual Tanning Moisturiser is a THREE in one product, that moisturises, acts as a gradual tanner and extends the length of a spray tan. Plus the bottle is HUGE so it lasts for ages. Then she can give her face a healthy, matching glow with the Bronzing Glow Drops. A hybrid of skincare and tanning, these little drops slip easily into a routine and give a streak-free glow while also hydrating and working hard to nix fine lines.
FaceTheory Ocuwake Eye Cream (FaceTheory, $42)
Everyone needs a good eye cream, mums probably more than most. This cream by FaceTheory has gone TikTok viral for being able to make sleepy eyes look awake and reducing dark circles. Hexylresorcinol lightens skin and makes the eye area appear brighter. Then a proprietary complex of ingredients, including stabilised vitamin C and ferulic acid and vitamin E, encourage production of collagen, which targets loss of elasticity and smooths skin while evening tone. The eye cream contains a lot of active ingredients so a little goes a long way.
Laniege Bouncy and Firm Sleeping Mask (Sephora, $55)
Korean beauty brand Laneige has revamped their signature Water Sleeping Mask and this one is LUXE. With spokesperson and all-round It-Girl Sydney Sweeney touting the virtues of this new mask, we were already partially sold, but then we actually tried it. Featuring a new mix of peptides as well as a peony and collagen complex, this mask plumps your skin so that you wake up with a bouncy and fresh complexion, just like it says on the label. Magic stuff, and smells heavenly too, and a real pampering treat this Mother’s Day.
Kopari Ultra Renewal Retinol Body Cream ($77) and Ultra Restore Firming Body Serum ($85 from Sephora)
We devote so much time time and resources to skincare when it involves our faces, so why then do we not pay the same amount of attention to our bodies? It’s all skin, after all! Kopari’s new range is devoted to showing the same care to bodies as we do to our faces and their new products are full of ingredients your mum will love.
Kopari’s Ultra Restore Firming Body Serum is a powerful peptide-packed serum that deeply hydrates, tightens, smoothens and restores skin for a healthy, radiant glow.
Kopari’s Ultra Renewal Retinol Body Cream targets and helps improve the look of fine lines, wrinkles, sun spots, loose skin and crepiness for smoother, firmer looking skin.
Maison Louis Marie No. 13 Nouvelle Vague Eau De Parfum (Sephora, from $56 for 10ml)
Maison Louis Marie has landed at Sephora and we’re so excited because if anyone knows fragrance, it’s the house that’s been doing it since 1792. Your mum will love this luxury line of delicate floral fragrances. With autumn upon us, we recommend the No. 13 Nouvelle Vague Eau De Parfum because it whisks you away to spring on the Italian coast, walking on a tiny oceanside street lined with blooming wildflowers and native lemons. Notes include muguet, coconut waters, lemon, tuscan fig, tonga and agave with base notes of vetiver, amber and santal. It’s fresh, delicate and uplifting, with an air of comfort.
By Rosie Jane Missy Eau De Parfum (Sephora, from $51 for 7.5ml)
If your mum is a sandy beach or pool-loving type, then this new fragrance from By Rosie Jane will be an instant hit for Mother’s Day. When we first took in the scent of Missy, we instantly wanted to be basking in the sun of a tropical paradise. Missy is sweet and sophisticated like pool-side hangs and weekends away. This youthful blend of white florals, tropical fruits and a fresh citrus veil of mandarin and amber is familiar and nostalgic but bold and modern—happiness in a bottle.
Urban Jungle Grime Fighter Body Wash ($36) and Midas Touch Body Lotion ($38 from Sephora)
With the cossie lives the way it is, sometimes we need a gift on the more affordable side without skimping on quality. That’s where Urban Jungle comes in—an Aussie brand dedicated to providing us with high-quality formulations based on Korean skincare principles at an accessible price point. The Grime Fighter body wash is developed with apricot seed oil and lactic acid, meaning soft, supple skin that washes and exfoliates at the same time. Vitamins A, C and E help to improve skin tone while also keeping fine lines and blemishes at bay.
Then after a good scrub, mum can nourish her skin with the complementary Midas Touch Body Lotion. Also featuring apricot seed oil full of vitamins A, C and E, this lightweight lotion contains niacinamide to lock in that hydration and calm the skin.
