Well, the second and final House of Sephora is done and dusted and there are SO many new products we’re already obsessed with.
The powerhouse player in beauty holds a twice-yearly showcase of everything new, trending and coming soon into the glittery aisles of Sephora’s hallowed halls. The second showcase of 2024 had loads of brands spread across two levels and four major trends: Cloud Makeup, Glass Skin Glo-Up, Everything Shower Essentials, and Glazed Lips.
We’ve had the famed Sephora goodie bag for a couple of weeks now and here are the products we’re obsessed with.
Paula’s Choice 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant
The big news of the showcase is that Paula’s Choice is now at Sephora! This is one of Australia’s fave results-oriented brands so we’re thrilled we can pop in and try in store now. Paula’s Choice is big on only including ingredients supported by research, no fillers. One of their mantras is “everything your skin needs, nothing it doesn’t.”
Our goodie bag contained a sample of Paula’s Choice 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant. This is one of Paula’s signature products—an iconic global best seller. It’s a daily leave-on liquid exfoliant with salicylic acid that quickly unclogs pores and controls oil for clear, glowing skin.
Make Up For Ever HD Skin All-In-One Face Palette
It’s the one palette you need for all your skin goals. Flawless complexion, here we come. This one palette has 12 complementary cream shades to correct and enhance the beauty you already have. Forget cakey anything, these creams are super blendable and coverage is buildable depending on the occasion. It does everything: colour, conceal, correct, contour and illuminate. There are four concealers and correctors, two blushes, two contouring shades and one highlighter. We love a multitasker and this palette is it.
Kopari Scents of Paradise Hair and Body Mists
Hair and body mists are having a bit of a moment. It’s not quite a perfume, not quite a cologne but with similar scent strength and less alcohol content, so they’re able to be sprayed on the hair and body without drying out the skin. These Kopari scents are little holidays in a bottle—think coastal breezes, beachy waves and tropical islands.. You can either spray on your hair and body for a fragrant boost or pick-me-up, or layer with other Kopari moisturisers for a longer lasting scent with more depth.
Murad Blemish Control Body Retexturising Pads
Hooray for treating the skin on our bodies as well as we treat the skin on our faces! When it comes to faces, we know that chemical exfoliation is a brilliant way to help clear and prevent blemishes, even skin tone and clear off dead skin cells. SO it just makes sense to use that kind of formulation on our bodies. Well done to Murad for creating these revolutionary body care pads, with a multi-acid formula that exfoliates, gets rid of rough bumpy skin and helps prevent ingrown hairs.
Peter Thomas Roth Peptide Skinjection Amplified Wrinkle-Fix Serum
Peptides are the magic word in skincare at the moment and Peter Thomas Roth have created a dual-purpose serum that helps eliminate and prevent the look of wrinkles with a 19% Peptide Complex.
Now, the label says a lot of science-y things like “amplified peptide solutions of 2% Matrixyl® Morphomics™, 5% Argireline® Amplified and 2% Matrixyl® Synthe’6®, this clinically advanced serum is boosted with 10% Argirelox™.” And look, to be honest, I don’t know what any of that means—it’s a proprietary formula. What I do know is that after a month of using this, my skin feels softer, and my elevens between the eyebrows have softened.
Face Theory Glow-C Cream Cleanser
Vitamin C cleansers don’t seem to be super common, but gee I love when a brand comes out with a good one. Face Theory has just had somewhat of a glow up themselves thanks to a rebrand and now they’re rereleasing their daily cream cleanser that gently removes surface debris while brightening dull skin with vitamin C. Face Theory has been around for ten years, and has a reputation for creating vegan, affordable skincare with a cult following online. It’s super reasonable
Amika Rising Star Voluminising Finishing Spray
Come for the whimsical, colourful, maximalist package design, stay for the high quality product formulations. I am already a huge fan of Amika’s Normcore Signature Shampoo and Conditioner, as well as the Perk Up Dry Shampoo. This voluminising spray is a very worthy addition to their extensive line up. It’s a lightweight, buildable spray that adds body and lifts hair strands at the root. It gives you the oomph but also leaves hair soft and crunch-free.
Zoeva Pout Glaze High-Shine Hyaluronic Lip Gloss
These are a sneak peek as they’re not on counters in Sephora until September but we love them so much we can’t leave them out. We’re loving the ‘90s moment of a super shiny lip gloss but dear god we don’t want the stickiness to come back as well. Thank goodness for Zoeva’s Pout Glaze, a high-gloss, moisturizing lip gloss for full and velvety soft lips with a non-sticky texture. It’s enriched with hyaluronic acid and provides immediate and long-lasting hydration. It performs like a gloss but nourishes like a balm, and is an all-round superhero. Thanks to a unique blend of balm-like ingredients such as sweet almond oil, castor oil, raspberry seed oil, and mango seed butter, your lips look healthy and supple and feel velvety soft.
The Ordinary Niacinamide 5% Face and Body Emulsion
Another addition to “giving our bodies some face time” crew,, The Ordinary has delivered with this Niacinamide 5% Face and Body Emulsion. This product is a multi-functional formula that helps fade the look of dark spots on the face and body, for a more even-looking skin tone. Tested on all skin tones, it targets the appearance of dark spots across the face, neck, chest and arms, key areas prone to uneven skin tone, for a more uniform tone across the face and body.
It incorporates a 5% concentration of niacinamide for sensitive skin and offers gentle skin brightening. In addition, the serum-textured formulation also helps improve the feel of skin texture across the face, chest and legs while hydrating and strengthening the skin barrier and promoting smoother skin.
Urban Jungle Creme De La Creme Face Cream
I’ve developed quite the fondness for Urban Jungle of late—it’s a fabulous Aussie brand that makes quality products at an accessible price point. The Creme De La Creme Face Cream is a moisturiser with a dreamy texture and skin-loving ingredients that provide a hit of hydration to all skin types, from parched to plump. It features two of my current skincare faves: squalane and niacinamide. Squalane mimics your skin’s natural oils, making it an excellent emollient for your skin. The 2% Niacinamide regulates oil, minimises fine lines, wrinkles and pores and treats hyperpigmentation.
Who is Elijah Cherry Fiesta
Who is Elijah fragrances are designed to evoke memories. These scents are designed to be worn by everyone, and blur the lines between masculine and feminine. Cherry Fiesta is one of the brand’s new scents and it’s truly a celebration of the vibrancy of life. It’s bright, it’s bold and at the same time delicate and sweet. It features top notes of mandarin, pear and anise, with a mid note of white florals and cherry, and base notes of vanilla, benzoin and green patchouli. It’s an ode to spontaneity and vivaciousness, and perfect as the weather warms up.
Milk Makeup Cooling Water Jelly Tint
Look the name says Tint but it’s more like a stain so BE CAREFUL with how much you put on. This jelly-like formula has some serious pigment and staying power. The colour is buildable but a little goes a long long way. Thanks to ingredients such as vegan collagen, aloe and seawater, the formula also has a cooling effect on the skin—great news for the warmer climates such as ours!
