For the third year, The Wickham Hotel is hosting Little Gay Day 2021 Sunday 3 October from 4 pm until late. Little Gay Day is a great way of getting entertained and supported by the community while raising money for a worthy charity.
Sahara Beck will be headlining a lineup chock full of local talent. Little Gay Day will take over the whole of the iconic Wickham Hotel, with live music in the Beer Garden.
Sahara Beck has been described as one of Queensland’s most powerful voices, releasing her 3rd EP, Queen Of Hearts at the end of 2019. Crafted by ARIA-nominated producer Tony Buchen (Mansionair, Courtney Barnett, Montaigne), it’s fearless, flamboyant and brimming with seductive art-pop. The EP featured the singles ‘Here We Go Again’, ‘I Haven’t Done a Thing Today’ and ‘Queen of Hearts’ which secured triple j and community radio airplay nationwide and coveted placements on Spotify and Apple Music playlists.
So not only will you have a fab time, you can feel good too, as donations on entry to the Little Gay Day will support Diverse Voices, a local LGBTQIA+ charity that operates QLife, a queer support hotline, where people can call and receive peer counselling for issues such as gender identity and sexuality.
“We are excited to once again be able to celebrate Little Gay Day with our patrons and help raise money for this charity, which is very close to our heart,” said Megan Edwards, The Wickham Hotel Venue Manager. “We hope to grow Little Gay Day each year and it is fantastic that we have added this event to our schedule for the last three years, in addition to the Big Gay Day celebration. We cannot wait to see everyone, from loyal customers to new, at this fantastic event.”
