On Thursday September 15, 19-year-old Madeline Stuart returned for her third season on the SS17 Runway in New York City. Being the first professional adult model with Down Syndrome, the inspiring up-and-coming talent continues to break and defy the mold in the fashion and entertainment industry.
After her photos were discovered online, major brands and publications such as Vogue, Paper and Cosmopolitan were captivated by her beauty, and booked her to model for their campaigns and shows.
Sitting among friends Kelly Osborne, Bonang Matheba, Derek Warburton and Victor Cruz, Maddy dominated this years New York Fashion Week.
Walking five shows in the Style Fashion Week and Art Hearts Fashion Week, Madeline embraced the support of her loyal fan base.
Besides winning hearts on the catwalk, Madeline has made appearances at the Ohio Buddy Walk, Birmingham Fashion Week, San Francisco Love Without Words Fashion Show, and the Boston Show for Veterans.
Madeline’s Autumn 2016 tour consists of Runway Dubai, the Russian Fashion Show for Disabilities, Tokyo Fashion Week, and the Melbourne Mission Ball and Fashion Show. Madeline is also currently working on her documentary that will be released late 2017.
Through her career, Madeline wants people to know that Down Syndrome is a blessing and it something to be celebrated.
