Sing 2 is a fun, feel-good movie to help pass the time during the school holidays. Is it one of the best films ever? Um, nah… But it will keep the kids amused and get your toes tapping. With a star-studded cast and a soundtrack packed with well-known hits and some seriously cute characters Sing 2 is worth a watch.
The sequel to the smash-hit animated Sing stars Buster Moon (Matthew McConaughey) and picks up where the last movie left off. The New Moon Theatre is now a sell-out hit, and so now his eye is on a bigger stage, glamourous Redshore City (a mix of Vegas and Atlantic City).
In order to break through in a new city, they decide to sneak into an audition and pitch an outrageous space musical idea featuring rock legend Clay Calloway (Bono). Unfortunately, Clay has been isolating himself from the world and retired from performing since his wife passed away.
The team must create a high budget, high energy musical from scratch with the pressure building as the opening night draws near. The cast needs to band together, make new friends, fight their fears while they persuade Clay Calloway to venture back onto the stage.
Sing 2 was written and directed by Garth Jennings and stars Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon, Scarlett Johansson, Nick Kroll, Taron Egerton, Tori Kelly, Nick Offerman and Jennings, all reprising their roles from the first film. Sing 2 also features new characters voiced by Bobby Cannavale, Halsey, Pharrell Williams, Letitia Wright, Eric André, Chelsea Peretti, and Bono.
Sing 2 is released in cinemas December 26.
