The upscale venues keep coming in Fortitude Valley’s brand spanking new GPO precinct and the latest has a real treat in store for you. Literally, they are treating you to a drink or two or perhaps some nibbles.
In celebration of its opening month, the latest venue of the GPO precinct, The Tax Office, has decided to open its bar and treat every Brisbane local to a round on them in the form of a $25 voucher!
The restaurant and bar component of The Tax Office soft-opened last week, unveiling a bespoke infinity bar – a soaring tower of bottles that disappear into an endless tunnel of colour and light, as well as mixed seating to enjoy a casual or intimate meal. The casual, yet elevated menu comes from its own dedicated kitchen and contains a perfect combination of meals to be shared or enjoyed alone. “Stage 2” of the venue, which houses the majority of The Tax Office’s Late Night offering, is scheduled for completion in the coming weeks, ahead of its full grand opening in early August. Details are scant about what will come in Stage 2, but it’s been revealed that the new area will double the venue’s capacity and provide an entirely new nightlife experience at the GPO.

Other venues at the GPO include the swish TAMA restaurant—a new take on contemporary dining inspired by the iconic and rich heritage of the 1880’s—and and the lavish The Gatsby, inspired by the illustrious soirees of the 1920s golden age.
