Production duo Skorpio emerged on the scene in 2015 producing smooth Nu-disco and deep house remixes full of soulful and funk vibes. The producers honed their skills as professional DJs before forming under Skorpio and releasing a string of remixes under Yes Yes Records. The latest drop is their debut EP release Groove Shaker ft Diz Zy (Original, Dub and Remixes).

What are you doing at the moment to keep your following growing?
Social Media is a big part of what we do so we are building a presence there. Music streaming is now becoming a great way of getting your music out there so increasing our presence on Spotify. Linking everything together and getting more traffic is definitely a priority to us building the Skorpio brand.

What’s plans for the future in the studio and in the live scene?
We are currently working on our second original tune for September Release on Yes Yes Records. Our Debut track is Groove Shaker ft Diz Zy (Original and Dub Mixes) released in July 2016. The Remix pack includes some awesome Remixes from Date Night, Diamond Lights, Andrew Lynch and Boogie Knights. Some great BrisVegas producers in there which is wicked!

What do you think of the growing popularity for Deep House and Nu Disco in Australia?
The music is growing fast again due to another move in genres towards this sound being commercially acceptable. Artists like Duke Dumont and Felix Jaehn have really shown that. We just love creating tunes we can groove to and play live in our sets which is very cool!

Who were the influencers on your pursuit to create dance music?
Shane and I have both been in the scene for a while and we have different tastes which is a great match. Shane is a bit more minimal and I’m a disco lover so that combines well. Joey Negro and the Masters at Work have been huge influences on my production and music and of course I love those disco flavours! For Shane it’s a bit more exotic, from Bach through to Bodzin! Yep!!
